A founding
member of hip-hop group Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five has been
arrested in connection with the stabbing of a homeless man in New York.
Nathaniel Glover, 57, also known as The Kidd Creole, was arrested on Wednesday night on murder charges, police said.
The victim was a 55-year-old man described by police as a level 2 sex offender who lived in a shelter.
His identity has not yet been released.
He was stabbed multiple times in his torso in Manhattan just before midnight on Monday, although it is unclear what motivated the fatal attack.
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five was formed in the Bronx in the 1970s and is best known for its 1982 rap song The Message.
The group became the first rappers to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
