The two former ENEMIES embraced at last night’s premiere of 50 Cent’s new project The Oath!!
Back in 2013, 50Cent – who usually loves to hold a grudge, revealed that his beef with the “Lean Back” rapper went on way longer than it should have.
50 took shots at Fat Joe on his 2004 track, “Piggy Bank” where he took shots at several New York rappers including Jadakiss, Nas, Kelis, and Shyne. Fat Joe responded with diss track, “My Fofo.”
“Fat Joe, that was interesting. The competitive nature of hip-hop forces us to compete,” 50 told MTV News. “It was one of those things that it went on longer than it was supposed to with that one.”
“He caused that energy coz prior to that, New York Hip-Hop got along,” Fat Joe recently told the hosts of Everyday Struggle. “That energy f*cked up the New York vibe… It was a bad time for New York Hip-Hop.”
Now that things are good between the former foes, Joe is said to be working hard to squash the beef between 50 and Ja Rule – it didn’t go smoothly.
“I know they can’t squash it, so what do you want me to do?… If there was a possibility of squashing, Fat Joe would’ve been at that summit. I tried to bring them both at Summer Jam last year, and I got a ‘f*ck your moms.’” Niggas was like, ‘There won’t be no kumbaya moments on this f*king stage.’ That was that. I tried it, Fat Joe tried to increase the peace.”
