Vin Diesel is teaming up with NBC to reboot one of the most successful TV shows of the 1980s.
Miami Vice is getting the Fast And Furious treatment, with Diesel's One Race company teaming up with the franchise's producer Chris Morgan.
The two will run the show as part of Diesel's multiyear deal with Universal Television, which will start with Miami Vice and move on to a serialised version of sci-fi franchise Riddick.
"I have dreamt about expanding the One Race brand into television," Diesel told the Hollywood Reporter, announcing he had found the "perfect creative partners" at Universal.

Miami Vice ran for five seasons at NBC from 1984 to 1989, and remains one of the network's most successful shows.
The original series starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover narcotics detectives Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs fighting organised crime in Miami.
In 2006, the show's executive producer Michael Mann directed a feature film starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, which was also produced by Universal Pictures.
The new series is the latest in a long string of TV reboots and revivals in recent years, which include the likes of Gilmore Girls and Dynasty.
Details of cast, crew and production dates are still unknown.
